Ronnie McDowell Biography "Bringing It To You Personally"

http://www.amazon.com/Ronnie-McDowell-Bringing-Personally-Autobiography/dp/0692572686/ref=la_B0028OI3CI_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1461983600&sr=1-1

As A longtime Ronnie McDowell fan, I was pleasantly surprised after reading his new autobiography
"Bringing It To You Personally".  I remember when he came out with "The King Is Gone"  shortly after Elvis Presleys' death in 1977.  I thought, wow he does sound like Elvis, but thought that's probably gonna be all he's known for now.

I was definitely wrong, and I'm glad I was!  He went on to prove himself in country music with a string of hits that bring back fond memories for this fan.  From "Watching Girls Go By", "Older Women", and a duet with the late Conway Twitty on "It's only make believe"  Ronnie proved he could hold his own in the country music field.

The book is richly written, making it a quick and enjoyable read, especially for longtime fans such as I.  It Includes many photos, I've never seen before, and warm, from the heart stories, making it one of the best autobiographies I've had the pleasure to read.

Written by Ronnie, and Scot England, I highly encourage fans to purchase this wonderful labor of love!  The 151 page book is available at amazon.com, and various bookstores.

Covering more than just the music, it covers the life of the man as well, a true entertainer, and gifted crwod pleaser.  Do yourself a favor and pick up your' copy soon!

My Keepsake Bible Review

Review of My Keepsake Bible, after reading through it, I decided it would be a wonderful gift for my granddaughter, Love the designed for children, and places to record events.  A must have for any Christian Home.
My Keepsake Bible by Sally Ann Wright is a treasury of Bible stories, prayers, and family history. Each of the Bible stories are one or two pages with wonderful illustrations by Honor Ayres. They cover some of the best known stories from the Bible, simplified for a young child, but still true to Scripture. The prayers are short and simple, and I appreciate that either Scripture reference or author attribution is given. These are all wonderful to read to young children, and familiarize them with the Christian faith. It book itself is a padded hardcover that is 8.3 x 6.3 x 0.6 inches---perfect for a young child to carry. This particular edition is suitable for girls and boys.

What grabbed my attention, though, is the section for family records and personal milestones. When I was younger, I loved looking through our illustrated family Bible, and was particularly fascinated by the genealogy recorded and the records kept. I also loved reading through my baby book to see what my mom had written about my "firsts". This Bible is a very good combination of both, and a way to teach a child about their immediate family, and explain that the child is also connected to the family of God. It gives a sense of belonging that is so vital in making a child feel secure and loved.

I received a copy of this book from Tyndale Publishers at no cost to myself for review purposes. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.
Revised edition of The Story for Kids for ages 8-12 using the updated New International Reader’s Version (NIrV); part of the church-wide campaign, The Story.
Now God’s great love story is told in a format for kids ages 9-12. The Story for Kids parallels the adult and teen edition of the book and can be used as part of The Story campaign or on its own.
The adventure, humor, and drama found in The Story for Kids compel kids to see the Bible as relevant and transformational. It’s the perfect resource for parents, grandparents, and teachers to use to introduce their children to the Bible as a complete story—one that tells about God’s great love for his people.
Features:
  • Characters, events, and teachings of the Bible arranged chronologically
  • Interior line art to engage the imagination
  • Transitional paragraphs set off in italics guide you through the stories
  • Discussion questions for small group or book clubs
  • Includes Scripture portions from the easy-to-read text of the New International Reader’s Version (NIrV)

The Story for Kids, NIrVDiscover the Bible from Beginning to EndA wonderful Introduction to the Bible for chidren ages 7-12
I highly recommend this to all children in this age range to prepare them for their journey through the bible later, easy to comprehend, and covers the most beautiful bible stories with illustrations, and the perfect size for childrens' hands.

I remember how good it felt, the first time I read the Bible as an adult, to “meet” different characters I’d heard of growing up.  The Story for Kids seems like a fantastic way to introduce young readers to the people God used to tell His story then, and help them imagine the role they might play in His story now.
Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I Tried Until I Almost Died

A valuable resource for anyone who's anxiety, and depression ridden.  Sandra McCollom has written an excellent book to help fellow sufferers.  With this book you can learn how to gain the Peace that Jesus promised, and the richness of His Grace.

I myself have suffered for many years with both anxiety and depression.  This book has helped me greatly deal with these Issues.  The book is divided into two parts, Breaking Fee, and Living Free, along with a section called:  God's promises to live by, and Discussion questions, and reflections.

I highly recommend this faith based book to anyone who suffers from these all too common maladies.

Tired of trying to measure up?
Trade your anxiety and frustration for rest and relaxation.

Many of us believe that in order to please God, we have to be perfect. It’s an easy lie to buy into. In a culture that emphasizes accomplishment and ever-higher goals, we feel driven to do more, achieve more, be more. And we get caught up in the unforgiving treadmill of self-imposed rules, believing that we should, we need to, we must.

The result? Anger, frustration, and anxiety that keep us far away from the life of peace that Jesus promised.

For years, Sandra McCollom lived in this trap. Finally worn out from striving for perfection but constantly feeling like a failure, one day she prayed in desperation, begging God for help. God answered Sandra by setting her on a life-changing journey to discover the riches of His grace.

In I Tried Until I Almost Died, Sandra shares how she left behind her burden of anxiety and fear and shows you how to experience for yourself the freedom of trusting solely in the perfecting power of God’s grace.
What People are Saying About I Tried Until I Almost Died:

“We’ve known Sandra McCollom for over half of her life, and she is the real deal—devoted Christian, wife, and mother. In this book, she shares with honesty and openness how she learned to appropriate God’s grace into her life and experience more joy. . . . Sandra’s story helps us lay aside weights and encumbrances in order to be more effective in the challenges of life (Hebrews 12:1). Pondering these pages will remind you that it was for freedom that Christ set us free (Galatians 5:1). Her words will help you break away from unreasonable perfectionism and begin to excel in the mercy and love of God.”
- Pastors Jeff and Patsy Perry, St. Louis Family Church (Sandra’s pastors)

“I had the privilege of personally hearing Sandra share her journey of being completely liberated by God’s amazing grace. I am thrilled that you, too, can now hear her story. I have no doubt that you will experience the transformative power of knowing our wonderful Lord Jesus as you see what He has done for Sandra in her own life.”
- Joseph Prince international best-selling author of The Power of Right Believing and senior pastor of New Creation Church

“In this book, Sandra shares her journey of learning to walk daily in God’s grace and live for His pleasure. When we discover what a wonderful, loving Father we have in God, we can experience a life filled with joy and peace. Our loving Father said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness’ (2 Corinthians 12:9). Whatever your heavy load is today, bring it to the Lord. You are His child, and He delights to care for you. May Sandra’s story inspire you to draw near and trust Him today.”
-James and Betty Robison, co-hosts of LIFE Today television

“I love Sandra McCollom and have watched the message of this book literally transform her life. As she has discovered her own belovedness, she now wants to help you discover yours. You will learn that you are already thoroughly loved and approved of by Jesus.”
-Christine Caine, founder of the A21 Campaign and best-selling author of Unstoppable.

“Sandra McCollom offers her readers the ultimate encouragement: God does not expect us to be perfect, and His love and grace extend to us right where we are. In a world that so often pushes us to be as close to perfect as we can, this message promising the relaxation and peace of God’s unyielding grace and love cannot be missed! Sandra is truly a great woman of God with something to say. This book is a must-read.”
-Tommy Barnett, co-pastor of Phoenix Fi

“Rest is a state of being where we maintain peace. Resting in God is complete peace with assurance that we can place our faith in Him. It sounds so simple. Why then do we struggle and take on unneeded anxiety and frustrations? Sandra McCollom’s book is an honest depiction of personal struggles on the matter and victories found.”
